Chorsu Bazaar, Tashkent

3.9
Indulge in spices, jewelry, handicrafts, and homemade bread, all sold under the large ornate turquoise dome of Chorsu Bazaar, a traditional covered farmers' market in the center of old Tashkent. Concentric circles of various stands offer a variety of daily necessities in this bustling bazaar. Browse leather jackets and souvenirs, sample dried fruit and nuts, and mingle with families doing their daily shopping. Historically, this has been one of the busiest markets in Central Asia, and the shopping area spills into the area surrounding the dome. You can also shop for ceramics, national costumes, and tubeteika caps. Using our international travel planner, Tashkent attractions like Chorsu Bazaar can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • The market, not such tourist untwisted, but with a fine assortment of the goods which are loved by local for the adequate prices. But the bargain, of course, still need. From local Laifkhakov:-dried apricots It is better to take a dark (it is bright, if specially vylyalayut sulfur)-and here a walnut it is better to accept light, instead of dark (means, it has started to deteriorate and its prokalali)-melons winter here still are beautiful! And after March 21 they will be at discounted prices, as the new Year begins (according to the local perception)-if you take pistachios, get smaller-it's local. -There is a mini-fig and fruit of a tree, similar to dates-very interesting taste! • As any trade route begins and ends on the market, my journey along the Silk Road began with Chorsu, the ancient market of Tashkent. It is impossible to leave from here without having dined among smoke and aroma of Uzbek kitchen. The freshest products in this market and the most delicious food from these products to prepare for your eyes.
