  • We had an amazing experience today at Laura Plantation. Our guide, Elisabeth, was excellent; having already been to multiple plantation and cemetery tours, I can safely say that she was an exemplary guide. The tour was very informative and engaging; no part of the tour felt “scripted” or rehearsed. The plantation is beautiful and educational. Be prepared for a lot of walking! I strongly recommend taking this tour.
  • I will admit that I went in 2013, but it was amazing, and I have to imagine that it remains so. If you're looking for a tour that has both a beautiful home AND compelling information about the lives of slaves, this is the site for you. Much better interpretation of slavery than Whitney Plantation, which I visited this year. And frankly a better premise than any other plantation tour. They endeavor to look at the region from the lens of multiculturalism and "otherness." Top notch!
