Everglades Alligator Farm, Homestead

4.1
Home to more than 2,000 individual alligators, Everglades Alligator Farm gives visitors the opportunity to see the creatures in their natural habitat and view the working processes of the farm itself. The facility operates as a provider for other institutions, hatching and raising alligators in an ethical way and providing viable eggs to other farms. Wander the park's trails and paths to get a glimpse of the alligator-raising process in action, or sit in on one of the wildlife shows that include snakes and other Florida animals. If you're lucky, you'll even get to watch a live alligator feeding. One of the mainstays of any visit and quintessential Florida activity is hopping on an airboat and zipping through the lush, watery landscape of the Everglades. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Homestead holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Everglades Alligator Farm and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • You get pretty close to the alligators. There are also snakes. Be sure to book the Boat Tour, mega fun. The package or value for money is right. Just don't arrive hungry. The food/snacks on site are very poor.

  • Great fun. Really good way of getting closer to alligators and learn about them. The boa trip was exciting and great way to see more of the Everglades while being guided to alligators in their natural environment. They also had several shows and allowed the audience to get in close with baby alligators. Good fun and well worth the drive and entrance price.
  • We spent an afternoon here with out kids and had a great time. There is a snake handler/alligator wrangler named Liz who did shows that afternoon. She was great - personable and funny and informative. She even let us hold the snakes and the baby alligators. The kids loved it! We fed baby alligators and saw alligators at different stages in their growth. There were also interesting birds around (we spent ages feeding the emus who were hilarious and a little bit scary!) A fun place for families with kids of all ages.
