#2 of 29 in Parks in Glasgow
Kelvingrove Park, a Sir Joseph Paxton-designed park, is a classic example of a Victorian Park and makes for a refreshing, breathtaking stop in your travels. You can discover the sunlight cottages, the Highland Light Infantry Monument, and the Tom John Honeyman Garden. Marvel at the elegant gardening, which includes five bowling greens, herbaceous borders, riverside walkways, and displays of azaleas and rhododendrons. Step over to the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries while you’re there. For a more active day, visit the children’s play areas, croquet greens, skateboard parks, and four tennis courts. Special events are sometimes scheduled, so check ahead of time to plan accordingly. Make Kelvingrove Park a part of your Glasgow vacation plans using our Glasgow online trip builder .

  • A beautiful walk through a few city blocks. Places to walk, or sit. Plenty of areas with gardens and bridges over the river.  more »
  • Very clean. Very open. River sights and sounds. Close to museum and university. Not oodles of benches though.  more »

  • Nice quiet green space in the heart of the city. Well laid out paths, easy access for all. Lovely old bandstand, needs to be used more often! Next to river with ponds full of ducks. Loads for kids of all ages to do. Great ornamental fountain as well.
  • Had a fantastic family wedding here at the bandstand, lovely location. Kept very nice and clean, not sure if staff helped to run it but after a shower all the seats were dried off for us. Great location and setting for functions, loved the place.
