The setting of some of the bloodiest battles of World War II, the vast city of Volgograd sits on the banks of the Volga River in the southern section of the country.
When in Volgograd, make a side trip to see Volzhskaya Hydroelectric Power Station in Volzhsky, approximately 38 minutes away. There's lots more to do: get to know the fascinating history of Mamayev Hill Monuments, pause for some photo ops at 'The Motherland Calls' Sculpture, don't miss a visit to The Eternal Flame, and see the sky in a new way at Volgograd Planetarium.

Make your Volgograd itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

In January, daytime highs in Volgograd are -5°C, while nighttime lows are -12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
