Serekunda ©
Serekunda hugs the Atlantic Ocean on one side and faces the Gambia River on the other, both of which provide an escape from the heat when temperatures rise.
Venture out of the city with trips to Gunjur Village Museum (in Gunjur), Fort Bullen (in Barra) and Kartong (The Reptile Farm & Lemonfish Art Gallery). Spend the 18th (Wed) exploring nature at River Gambia National Park. The adventure continues: tour the pleasant surroundings at Katchikally Crocodile Pool, contemplate the long history of Fort James Island, make a trip to Arch 22, and see what you can catch with a fishing tour.
