The tiny Armenian village of Geghard draws in many visitors who flock to admire the medieval Geghard monastery, a World Heritage Site.
On the 1st (Wed), explore the ancient world of Havuts Tar Monastery, then steep yourself in history at Garni Temple, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of The Monastery of Geghard.

Yerevan to Geghard is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of bus and taxi. Expect a daytime high around 29°C in May, and nighttime lows around 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Wed) early enough to go by car to Dilijan.

On the 2nd (Thu), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haghartsin Monastery, make a trip to Monastery Sevanavank, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Harutyun Church, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kecharis Monastery, then get engrossed in the history at Memorial Museum of Orbeli Brothers, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Tezharuyk Monastery. Keep things going the next day: explore the world behind art at The Geological Museum and Art Gallery of Dilijan, then pause for some serene contemplation at Matosavank Monastery, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Jukhtakvank Monastery, and finally appreciate the history behind Monument to the Heroes of the Film Mimino.

On the 4th (Sat), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Odzun Church, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Akhtala Monastery, then steep yourself in history at Haghpatavank, then get engrossed in the history at Mikoyan Brothers Museum, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Monastery of Sanahin. Traveling by car from Dilijan to Alaverdi takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Dilijan to Alaverdi. In May, Alaverdi is little chillier than Dilijan - with highs of 22°C and lows of 6°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) so you can go by car to Sisian.
