The former capital of Guatemala and a World Heritage Site, Antigua retains its colonial charm and remains one of the most visited destinations in the country.
Venture out of the city with trips to Guatemala City (Mundo Petapa Irtra, La Aurora Zoo, & more) and Iximche (in Panajachel). There's much more to do: contemplate the geological forces at Volcán Pacaya, explore the ancient world of Arco de Santa Catalina, don't miss a visit to Cerro de la Cruz, and see the interesting displays at ChocoMuseo.

To see ratings, maps, other places to visit, and more tourist information, go to the Antigua trip itinerary builder website .

If you are flying in from Mexico, the closest major airport is La Aurora Airport. In June, daily temperatures in Antigua can reach 29°C, while at night they dip to 19°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel back home.
