Serekunda ©
Serekunda hugs the Atlantic Ocean on one side and faces the Gambia River on the other, both of which provide an escape from the heat when temperatures rise.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Fort James Island and National Museum. Visiting Kotu Beach and Katchikally Crocodile Pool will get you outdoors. Get out of town with these interesting Serekunda side-trips: Tanje Village Museum (in Tanji), Gunjur Village Museum (in Gunjur) and Lemonfish Art Gallery (in Kartong). The adventure continues: hunt for treasures at Albert Market, stop by Senegambia Craft Market, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Roman Catholic Cathedral, and make a trip to Arch 22.
