Little more than a small town at the turn of the 20th century, Dushanbe grew rapidly during the Soviet era and now serves as the national capital and home to nearly 800,000 people.
Change things up with these side-trips from Dushanbe: Qurghonteppa (Ismoil Somoni Monument, Buddhist Monastery Ajina-Tepa, & more), Ski Tourism Complex Safed Dara (in Tagob) and Nurek (Lenin Statue, Nurek Dam, & more). Fill the 8th (Mon) with excitement at Delfin Aquapark. There's much more to do: stroll around Rudaki Park, make a trip to National Library, take in the exciting artwork at NOOR ART GALLERY, and learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Botanical Garden and Zoo.

To find photos, reviews, where to stay, and tourist information, use the Dushanbe trip itinerary maker tool .

If you are flying in from Canada, the closest major airport is Qurghonteppa International Airport. April in Dushanbe sees daily highs of 26°C and lows of 9°C at night. On the 31st (Fri), you'll travel back home.
