Serekunda hugs the Atlantic Ocean on one side and faces the Gambia River on the other, both of which provide an escape from the heat when temperatures rise.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Serekunda: Gunjur Village Museum (in Gunjur), Kartong (The Reptile Farm & Lemonfish Art Gallery) and Abuko Nature Reserve (in Banjul). Spend the 1st (Tue) exploring nature at River Gambia National Park. There's much more to do: identify plant and animal life at Black and White Safari - Day Tours, stroll through Bijilo Forest Park, contemplate the long history of National Museum, and kick back and relax at Kotu Beach.

If you are flying in from Germany, the closest major airport is Banjul International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 37°C in September, and nighttime lows around 27°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
