Serekunda hugs the Atlantic Ocean on one side and faces the Gambia River on the other, both of which provide an escape from the heat when temperatures rise.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Serekunda: Abuko Nature Reserve (in Banjul), The Reptile Farm (in Kartong) and Fort James Island (in North Bank Division). The adventure continues: enjoy the sand and surf at Kotu Beach, get a new perspective on nature at Gunjur Village Museum, tour the pleasant surroundings at Bijilo Forest Park, and make a trip to Arch 22.

For reviews, other places to visit, more things to do, and other tourist information, use the Serekunda day trip website .

Lagos, Nigeria to Serekunda is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and car; or drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Lagos to Serekunda. Traveling from Lagos in July, you will find days in Serekunda are a bit warmer (38°C), and nights are about the same (28°C). Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
