Famed for its landscape of unusually shaped stone formations and churches cut into the natural rocks, Goreme sits in the central part of the country, an area originally settled during Roman times.
Take a break from the city and head to Cappadocia Cave Dwellings and Derinkuyu Yeralti Sehri. Do some cultural sightseeing at Uchisar Castle and Güvercinlik Vadisi (Pigeon Valley). Step out of Goreme with an excursion to Ihlara Valley in Guzelyurt--about 1h 15 min away. Spend the 17th (Wed) exploring nature at Goreme National Park. Next up on the itinerary: appreciate the views at Gulludere Vadisi, Head underground at Kaymakli, get interesting insight from Royal Balloon, and make a trip to Kaymakli Underground City.

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Goreme is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and bus. Traveling from Jeddah in July, you will find days in Goreme are little chillier (37°C), and nights are colder (18°C). Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Sat) early enough to travel to Istanbul.
