The time zone changes from Central European Time (CET) to Eastern European Time (EET), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Famed for its landscape of unusually shaped stone formations and churches cut into the natural rocks, Goreme sits in the central part of the country, an area originally settled during Roman times.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Derinkuyu Yeralti Sehri and Cappadocia Cave Dwellings. Uchisar Castle and Vaftizci Yahya Kilisesi will appeal to history buffs. Start off your visit on the 29th (Mon): explore the ancient world of Laodikeia, then delve into the distant past at Hierapolis & Pamukkale, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Pamukkale Natural Park.
