Conil de la Frontera is a town on the Atlantic coast in the southern part of Spain, with around 22,000 inhabitants.It has six beaches: Playa La Fontanilla, Playa El Roqueo (with a 1936 Civil War bunker), Playa Fuente del Gallo, Playa Punta Lejos, Playa Cala del Aceite and Playa los Bateles. Step off the beaten path and head to Cala de Roche and Cala de los Alemanes. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Playa El Palmar and Playa de Zahara de los Atunes. Step out of Conil de la Frontera with an excursion to Playa Bolonia in Tarifa--about 48 minutes away. There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Playa de la Barrosa, make a trip to Plaza de Espana, and visit a coastal fixture at Lighthouse at Cape Trafalgar.
