Sydney, Australia to Ljubljana is an approximately 27-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 9 hours traveling from Sydney to Ljubljana. Traveling from Sydney in April, expect Ljubljana to be a bit cooler, temps between 19°C and 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Tue) so you can drive to Ptuj.

Ptuj is a town in northeastern Slovenia that is the seat of the Municipality of Ptuj. On the 8th (Wed), see the interesting displays at Ptuj Castle (Ptujski Grad), examine the collection at Rogatec Open Air Museum, then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, and finally see the interesting displays at Old Vine House. On your second day here, pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Sv. Roka, step into the grandiose world of Celje Castle, then see the interesting displays at The Photographic Studio of Josip Pelikan, and finally explore the striking landscape at Piramida (Pyramid Hill).

You can drive from Ljubljana to Ptuj in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Thu) so you can drive to Bohinjsko Jezero.

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Start off your visit on the 10th (Fri): contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St John the Baptist, and then hit the slopes at Vogel Ski Center. On the next day, admire the sheer force of Waterfall Savica, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Naravno Kopalisce Lajst, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Spodnja Sorica Church of St. Nicholas.

Traveling by car from Ptuj to Bohinjsko Jezero takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a train. While traveling from Ptuj, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Bohinjsko Jezero, ranging from highs of 16°C to lows of 4°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Kranjska Gora.
