One of Europe's most culturally diverse cities, Stockholm extends over 14 islands, united by a series of tunnels and bridges.
Discover out-of-the-way places like The Green Trails and Osynlig Utstallning - Stockholm. Uppsala Domkyrka and Royal Palace are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Stockholm: Uppsala (Museum Gustavianum, Botanical Gardens, & more), Tyresta National Park (in Tyreso) and Gripsholm Castle (in Mariefred). And it doesn't end there: take an in-depth tour of Vasa Museum, appreciate the extensive heritage of Strandvagen, steep yourself in history at Skogskyrkogarden, and discover the riches below the earth's surface at Sala Silvergruva.

To see ratings, where to stay, more things to do, and more tourist information, you can read our Stockholm trip planner.

If you are flying in from Slovenia, the closest major airports are Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, Stockholm-Bromma Airport, Stockholm Västerås Airport and Stockholm Skavsta Airport. In September in Stockholm, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 9°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel to Kiruna.
