Tinian--now home to around 3,000 people--was the site of a ferocious battle between Japanese and Allied forces during World War II.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Sun): make a trip to Suicide Cliff (Tinian), enjoy the sand and surf at Taga Beach, then steep yourself in history at North Field, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Tachogna Beach.

As the largest of Northern Mariana Islands, Saipan represents an important entry port in the archipelago.
You'll get in some beach time at Micro Beach and Ladder Beach. Puntan Sabaneta and Saipan Katori Shrine are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Obyan Beach, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, head off the coast to Managaha Island, and take in the awesome beauty at Mt.Tapochao.
