You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Head to Andrassy Avenue and Herend Porcelain - Hadik Shopfor some retail therapy. Get a sense of the local culture at Matthias Church and Dohány Street Synagogue. Spend the 27th (Mon) immersed in therapeutic waters at a local thermal spa. There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Fisherman's Bastion, see the interesting displays at House of Terror Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), and don't miss a visit to Hősök tere.

Built on a desolate swamp as a showcase capital of Imperial Russia, this grand city has certainly lived up to the expectations of its founder, Tsar Peter the Great.
Get some cultural insight at Russian Museum and State Hermitage Museum and Winter Palace. Museum-lovers will get to explore The Museum Complex The State Museum St. Isaac’s Cathedral and The Bath Block. The adventure continues: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, contemplate the long history of Palace Square (Dvortsovaya Ploshchad), view the masterpieces at Tretyakov's Gallery, and admire the masterpieces at Peterhof Grand Palace.

Traveling by flight from Budapest to St. Petersburg takes 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. The time zone changes from Central European Time to Moscow Standard Time, which is usually a 2 hour difference. While traveling from Budapest, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in St. Petersburg, ranging from highs of 72°F to lows of 57°F. On the 1st (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Prague.

Start off your visit on the 6th (Thu): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Wawel Cathedral, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Wawel Royal Castle, and then buy something for everyone on your list at Cloth Hall (Sukiennice).
