Built on a desolate swamp as a showcase capital of Imperial Russia, this grand city has certainly lived up to the expectations of its founder, Tsar Peter the Great.
On the 12th (Tue), pause for some serene contemplation at The Museum Complex The State Museum St. Isaac’s Cathedral and then see the interesting displays at State Hermitage Museum and Winter Palace. On the 13th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire the striking features of Nevsky Prospekt, then examine the collection at Russian Museum, and then take in the exciting artwork at Tretyakov's Gallery.
