The capital city of Malawi and its largest, Lilongwe serves as an important center of economy and transportation for the area.
Venture out of the city with trips to Kuti Wildlife Reserve (in Salima), Chongoni Rock-Art Area (in Dedza) and Kungoni Centre of Culture & Art (in Mtakataka). There's much more to do: stroll through Lilongwe Wildlife Centre, get a sense of history and politics at Parliament Building, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Nkhoma Mountain, and pause for some serene contemplation at Maula Cathedral.
