Famed for its landscape of unusually shaped stone formations and churches cut into the natural rocks, Goreme sits in the central part of the country, an area originally settled during Roman times.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Sun): explore the striking landscape of Goreme National Park. On your second day here, Head underground at Uchisar Castle, get to know the fascinating history of Güvercinlik Vadisi (Pigeon Valley), then take in the dramatic natural features at Fairy Chimneys, then explore the striking landscape at Pasabag, and finally get interesting insight from Royal Balloon.

You can fly from Istanbul to Goreme in 4 hours. Other options are to do a combination of shuttle and flight; or drive. Traveling from Istanbul in September, you will find days in Goreme are a bit warmer (33°C), and nights are slightly colder (13°C). Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Mon) to allow time to travel to Fethiye.

A prosperous hub of tourism on the Mediterranean coastline, Fethiye boasts one of Turkey's finest natural harbors.
On the 17th (Tue), glide through the air with a parasailing or paragliding tour, then mingle with the ghosts of the past at Kayakoy, and then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas.

Traveling by flight from Goreme to Fethiye takes 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. Expect somewhat warmer evenings in Fethiye when traveling from Goreme in September, with lows around 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Tue) early enough to drive to Kas.
