Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Thu): admire the striking features of Basilica di San Marco, then snap pictures at Ponte dei Sospiri, then see the interesting displays at Doge's Palace, and finally don't miss a visit to St. Mark's Square. On the next day, take in the architecture and atmosphere at San Giorgio Maggiore, explore the galleries of Peggy Guggenheim Collection, then snap pictures at Ponte di Rialto, and finally explore the activities along Canal Grande.
