Chiang Mai Zoo Reviews
My partner and I decided we would check out what else Chiang-Mai has to offer, stumbled across the zoo. Where to start... the enterance looks welcoming and starts off great; it goes downhill very fast... more »
Je viens tout juste d’y aller. Un conseil, à fuir ! Déjà grand zoo à faire en voiture principalement que des grandes routes. Bien sûr il vous faudra payer le trajet. Tu payes pour aller voir le zoo co... more »I just went. A hint, to flee! Already large Zoo to be made by car mainly as big roads. Of course you will have to pay for the trip. You pay to go see the full Zoo and they will pay you inside 100 Baht more per person to see the pandas. A shame! The welfare of the animals has been forgotten I think. The ostriches lost all their feathers, the macaws locked in a tiny cage with the Toucan. The felines (Tigers-Lions-pantheres) have a poor little enclosure to live they just turn around in circles. His heart cracked me sincerely. The Safari side don't even talk about it.. two poor Zebra in a dismal state two poor Gazelle and a giraffe. The only cool thing is a big Aviary or we think to be in the tropical jungle with the birds and again to have 1 Peacock two egrets trap to tourist friends of the animals flee
Quite sure good zoo complex, well laid out and takes a good day to get around. Most of the attractions were well kept. There is a monorail that you can ride and the kids enjoyed being able to feed elephants and ride ponies. They have a good range of animals and the enclosures are set out for reasonably good viewing. There is a food hall for lunch and plenty of other snacks available.
Awesome zoo. Different style comparing to modern European zoos but definitely worth visiting. Animals are in more natural environment. I wish I had more time there. My kids were amazed too. Pandas (Chiang Mai Zoo is one of 16 zoos outside the China that have pandas), koalas, and much more.
