Zoo Zurich, Zurich
An oasis of greenery on a wooded hill east of the city's downtown area, Zoo Zurich shelters over 2,000 animals of about 250 different species. In addition to a large aquarium and open-air aviary, the park features special areas dedicated to African animals, as well as large enclosures for red pandas, snow leopards, tigers, lions, and otters. A replica of a tropical rainforest, the zoo's top attraction, provides visitors with a hands-on learning experience about the natural environments of Madagascar. If you time things right, you may be able to catch the daily penguin parade. Check the website for special events and guided tour options. Zoo Zurich Reviews
It’s a wide variety and well maintained Zoo at a 25 CHF entry fee. You can spend a whole day here. In the afternoon you might find some animals sleeping, which were a delight to my eyes or you might c... more »
In the best weather, we went to Zurich Zoo at Easter. Against all expectations, we were also there very early, we didn't have to queue for very long. The car park search was easy as we were there as I said. However, the first shock came shortly afterwards ... For four hours of parking time, Mann had to pay 12 — SFR. Well, yes, what to do because somewhere you have to put your car. Since with the public transport country the road would have been too far and cumbersome, it would also be a great alternative. The prices of the tickets you could pay with Reka Checks were very moderate considering what the maintenance of a zoo costs. In addition, soooo had many options to stay in the zoo all day without the boredom. Playgrounds have also been created for the children, bringing a lot of variety to the animals. The variety of animals and species only amazes you ... One could always stand up to the ladies and gentlemen, they were at a fixed point with the respective animal species and they were very happy to provide technical and detailed information about the corresponding animals. Unfortunately, unfortunately, we found that with many animal species the insight through far too much bushes and scrub could not see well. If someone is of smaller stature, especially the children, had almost no chance of getting a good view of the animals. What a pity... It is a great pity. What was very nice is the elephant facility with the very beautiful outdoor facilities. There were many ways to take a break over coffee, cake, bratwurst ect. To make. Unfortunately, at that time many animals were still in the "winter camp" so that many enclosures were empty. We also liked the opportunity to celebrate a birthday or similar at the zoo itself, which would certainly be a unique experience. Also the purchase of an annual pass for the zoo visit we found rather cheap and for families who live nearby this is a great opportunity. The new construction of the Africa plant makes the range of animals even greater and more interesting. We will certainly be back soon. Then hopefully with a better view of the animals. One more thing should be mentioned here: The many work, effort, worries, love and care, that hope and fear, the compassion and respect towards the animal that the caregivers, keepers, all employees and every single one in the zoo for the animals that are partly extinct Contrary ... They all deserve the highest level of credit and praise. The discussions about animals at the zoo, behind bars ... Ect. The spirits often differ ... But what would be the case without this kind of animal husbandry??? Many animals may no longer exist today. If today already children mean the milk comes from the Migros ... There to think about that. And so it is with all the other non-native animals!!!! Without their tireless commitment to these animals, this world would be a lot of annoyance. Thank you very much
What a wonderful zoo! This place has a fantastic variety of different animals and habitats. You can spend hours here. Great place to visit for kids and adults alike. I wish we had gotten here a little earlier as the line to get in took a little while but it was worth the wait.
Lovely place, you can spend the whole day here and not getting bored. Only 5 min walk from Train station to the main Entrance and it's only animals but very lovely gardens/flowers/trees.
