Once an ancient mosque’s minaret, Torre Giralda is a converted belfry soaring over the city’s famous Gothic cathedral. A symbol of the city easily recognizable from countless postcards and tourist brochures, the tower can be climbed for a sweeping view of the surrounding area. This brick tower on the northeastern side of the World Heritage–listed cathedral is 104 m (341 ft) tall, originally built around 1190. The tallest sections of the tower were added much later, when Christians took over most of the city’s Islamic buildings and converted them to suit their religious needs. The tower can only be accessed through the cathedral. To ensure entry, check online for available tour options before you go. During the climb there are small spaces for stopover and view of the city. Once at the top the view over the city is magnificent.
Beautiful cathedral that acts as a focal point for the city. If you are ever lost, just look up and you'll see it peeking over the rooftops. You can climb the tower but I recommend booking tickets if you plan on visiting. The architecture is stunning and an interesting mix of catholic and Muslim cultures. Plenty of rooftop bars close by to get an even better view of the spires and have a gin tonic. Legend has it that Columbus has certain parts of his anatomy buried there!!!
Extraordinary monument in the old town of Seville. Very well known, You Can visit it inside and walk up, it is not high as high as it from outside appears. Drink a good coffee and enjoy the way....remembering that many years ago, people were walking up with their donkeys charged with materials.
