Delve into 11th-century history of the Moorish conquest of Spain at Alcazaba. Built on the site of an ancient Roman village, the fortress served as a military stronghold for the Moors up until the Reconquista. Tour the inner labyrinth of the fortress to see impressive Muslim architecture. Wander the gardens full of notable fountains and landscaping. Appreciate panoramic views of the coastline from the fortress walls. Directly in front of the entrance is an old Roman amphitheater that you can tour in addition to the fortress with the purchase of a single ticket. Márciusban és júliusban is megnéztük, és újra megnéznénk. Érdemes a Gibralfaro várnál kezdeni. Ide a 35-ös busszal fel lehet menni. A belépő kedvezményes, ha egyszerre nézzük meg a Gibralfaro várat és... more »We looked at it in March and July and looked again. You should start at Gibralfaro Castle. You can go to 35 by bus. The entrant is discounted if you take a look at the Gibralfaro Castle and the Alcazaba at the same time. Walking down the castle, we stopped at the Gibralfaro viewpoint. The sight is worth it. In the heat it is easier to walk down, the road leads to the Alcaba. This is also a compulsory attraction if you are in Malaga. We started right inside the castle gate, but the leftist part is amazing. On the right side of the castle wall there is a small presszó, washbasin. After A Long Walk, you can relax. In the left section, you'll see an Arabian garden with a water fountain, up inside gardens, buildings and beautiful murals. After watching Alcaba you can stop at the ruins of the Roman theatre.
Balade sympa avec une jolie vue sur Malaga. Entrée payante mais tarif très abordable. Le seul point embêtant c'est de devoir se traîner la poussette dans les escaliers ! But the return is by an elevator.
Lovely place to spend a few hours! Wonderful history right in the middle of the city, easily accessible from near the main Cathedral area. Free after 2 pm on Sunday. Nice stroll up to the top with gorgeous views and gardens all the way through. We spent 1-2 hours exploring but could spend the whole afternoon. From here you can then walk (a steep but doable) 20 minute walk up to the Castillo.
What a magical and nice place. For 5 € you can visit the lower and the upper castle. However the lift, which is important if you have a stroller, is out on Mondays. The sight is marvellous. You can enjoy the stay there
