Tulagi Dive Reviews
The dive center is good and the dive sites are interesting. Troy the owner knows his history very well so the dive sites are even more very interesting once you have heard him explain them. However, J... more »

Arriving at Submarine I-1 we had to swim about 150-200m out to the reef edge. The wreck itself was quite nice. The lowest point is about 28m. The guide swam away all the time and is not waiting for us. The 2nd dive was actually the height. The B17- Flying Fortress Bomber is only located between 12-18m and very close to the beach. The main part is 12m. At the briefing, the guide said that we turned around at 100bar, which made no sense at all. I asked why, but didn't get an answer. I thought it was a joke. But no after 35min. reached the first 100bar and we had to turn around. The guide is again not waiting and was first out of the water. It rained backwards. We as guests sat in the rain, the crew sat in the dry. The 2 TG's that we had planned for the next day, we said to that. Such behaviour is not possible at all. I have already guided myself and if the guest is not in the first place you should look for another job! Furthermore, he has always annoyed the fish, probably out of boredom... absolute NO GO!
Dove a couple of WWII wrecks in Honiara. There were a couple of blips in the morning meetup for the dives but Troy made it right and gave us discounts. Troy is a good guy. He took care of us. The rest of the dive day went great.
Diving instructors are serious, but don't get it the wrong way, they're doing their job, which is to train you - and they're doing it well. Apart from that - who can say that they got their training next to a shipwreck?
