Standing on a rocky hill and overlooking the river, Bratislava Castle dominates the city and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including the neighboring countries of Austria and Hungary. The massive, fully restored building is topped with four corner towers. Look for the well-conserved original part of the structure, the 15th-century Sigismund Gate. The castle houses the national museum and four halls exhibiting archaeological findings, such as the prehistoric statue of the Venus of Moravany. Catch a concert at the Baroque chapel, now converted into a music hall. If you get hungry, dine at the restaurant housed an erstwhile Baroque stable facing an English park. Bratislava Castle Reviews
Posizione fantastica del castello che domina sulla città e sul Danubio. Dalla cima si può godere di una vista magnifica. Peccato per l'interno: il castello è completamente ricostruito e non originale.... more »Fantastic location of the castle overlooking the city and the Danube. From the top you can enjoy a magnificent view. Too bad for the interior: the castle is completely rebuilt and not original. Inside there are exhibitions of photographs, furniture and paintings but personally I was not impressed. I would rather admire the remains and ruins of the old castle.
Ce chateau n'a pas de charme particulier. Il est bien d'y monter pour le point de vue qu'il offre sur la ville. more »This castle has no particular charm. It is good to go up there for the view it offers on the city.
We didn't have a lot of time as we were on the ditto train.. Suggest make your own way and allow for time to explore.Views are breath taking. Fabulous.photo stop. Sadly in the short time we had could not see All the castle.
Nice looking castle. You get a great overview of the city of Bratislava from on top. The castle looks renovated but nice. There are very beautiful clean parks and different paths to walk up to the castle.
