To see one of the world's biggest collections of Russian art, head to State Tretyakov Gallery. Established in 1856, the museum began as a private collection of artworks acquired by merchant Pavel Tretyakov and housed inside a building designed by artist Viktor Vasnetsov. Today, this national repository of art contains over 170,000 pieces, including notable works by Repin, Kandinsky, and Malevich. The museum's vast collection also includes a series of 12th-century icons painted on wood by unknown artists. Pick up a floor plan at the entrance, and be sure to visit the halls housing sculptures by Shubin, Prokofiev, and Martos. • Hello world! Decided to take children on Saturday to bring to the State Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrukinsky Lane, 10. At 12 o'clock the queue was discovered and 40 minutes in the queue realized that instead of two checkpoints one works and this creates a queue!!!! However, it was the first and last chagrin. Further, with the help of a friendly uncle, have chosen and bought tickets, and children under 12 years of age free (pleasantly), paying by bank card. Split and go to watch the paintings of famous artists! As a result: the children were tired, but were delighted, photographed a lot. It is possible to join groups with a guide and partially to listen, but we have decided to examine independently. Going out to the street by 15.30 discovered the absence of a queue (possibly launched a second frame for passage). I think it is necessary to walk after 16 hours, that to enjoy the pictures in a more peaceful environment!!!

  • The collection of pictures normal (although in the Russian Museum of St. Petersburg liked more), but you can not write about the quality of service, which all complain. I will complain: there are no maps of the halls inside the museum (you can only see online on the site), rooms are not visible everywhere, the halls are located in a haphazard. At the entrance check as in the airport, all the bags inspected from the inside. On inspection in the top clothes are not allowed, and inside is rather cold, so prepare jackets. With backpacks and bags allowed only women (a rare case of sexism in relation to men), which can pass though with a suitcase on wheels, it is all their "women's purse" read with...

  • Absolutely beautiful architecture, however, upon arrival, soviet soldiers took my food and clothes and dressed me and my family in potato sacks. I tried to explain to the guy that I am a small, but he insisted on giving me a large. Those things are itchy, might I add! Wonderful guides, and the service was impeccable. Loved the culture, loved the people, but I still don't understand why we had to bring our own toilet paper.
  • the audio does not say anything interesting, it only describes the obvious in the pictures ("he is wearing a red garment consistent with the time"). the exhibition does not have explanatory posters explaining about the paintings. it's only interesting if you know all about the artists before you go.
