  • The Central Tejo is the former Museum of Electricity and presents in its spaces, the past, the present and the future of the energies, in a concept of museum of Science and Industrial archaeology, where they live side by side thematic and experimental exhibitions, with the Various cultural and business events. Its building develops in the perimeter of the old thermoelectric central-Central Tejo, which illuminated the city of Lisbon for more than four decades. The initial opening of this museum was given in 1990, still as museum of electricity. After ten years, he went through a new period of rehabilitation of his buildings and equipment, to reopen to the public in 2006. Today, for its cultural and multidisciplinary aspect, the visitor can enjoy various events; From the permanent exhibition of the museum, where it shows and explains through the original machinery of the old Central Tejo its mode of operation and its work environment, until the temporary exhibitions of great diversity (photography, sculpture, painting,) passing through didactic and more playful spaces with the theme of energies, such as pedagogical games, or exhibitions of solar energy abroad, theater, concerts, conferences, etc.

  • The electricity museum is located in the city of Lisbon, in the area of Belém, near the Torre de Belém. It's one of the most beautiful buildings in town for me.
