#2 of 11 in Things to do in Oswiecim
Founded to revitalize Jewish culture in the town of Auschwitz, Jewish Museum and Synagogue serves as both a place of worship and a museum. Part of the museum is an educational facility that aims to educate the public about the Holocaust. Take a tour of the synagogue and the museum to learn about the culture and daily rituals of the Jewish community that once made up the majority of the population of the town that later became infamous as a concentration camp. You'll also see the Kluger family house and any temporary exhibits. A tour request form online allows you to book in advance. • The shame of history. The brutality of people on other people. My heart's been tightened. I saw showcases full of thousands of shoes, suitcases, human hair. (They gathered and sold them for wool) The photos I took were minimal, outdoors, I didn't want to impress the horror. We must not forget. I would suggest you to definitely get a tour guide, has so much information to carry you. I was recently repaired and had a Greek-born tour guide. The waiting was for the member time. I had booked tickets long ago. I went organised. My visit was to Auschwitz and the concentration camp Birkenau

  • Come to the land where Poland will come. There are professional orbit, there are iron, iron, dormitory, train car, farm and museum ..., let the people experience in the past in this labor, persecuted Jews in the inhumane as the prison---the pain of not being free to concentrate on the camp for a long way. Bitterness, NAI, in the serious fragments of human nature, who have been trampled on, rekindle the desire and determination to be faithful to human nature, to peace in the world, and to be equal in life. Must make a visit.

  • Very interesting museum and a lovely tour done by a German Social Volunteer. English, German and Polish tours possible. Visit to the Old Synagogue is also nice and Jewish groups are able to hold a prayer with the old Thora. Beautiful, even though equipped with replicas. Very well worth a visit but don't expect much information on World War II. It's about Jewish life in the city.
  • Very interesting, loads of information and polite staff. Quirky cafe at the end too.
