Zuma Rock, Madalla

#2 of 15 in Nature in Nigeria
At 725 m (2,379 ft) above the ground, Zuma Rock embodies an enduring mystery. The enormous black monolith stands north of the capital, and no one knows how it was created. Check it out on a 100-naira note, and then visit it to see its grandeur up close. The Gbagyi tribe used it as a means of defense against invasions of other tribes. • Zuma Rock is one of the geographic landmarks in Abuja. It's located off the city centre but attracts lots of visitors. Tourists and fun seekers go for hiking here too We got some great views from the highway and I think there should be some sort of park around the entire area.
  • Do not miss to see this Geo landmark if you are visiting the capital city of Nigeria. The top of the Zuma Rock often remains covered with fog during heavy Harmattan. Visited this place during a trip to Abuja.
