Lekki Conservation Centre, Lagos
Designed to protect a pristine natural area and educate visitors about biodiversity, Lekki Conservation Centre encompasses 78 hectares (190 acres) and boasts the longest canopy walkway in Africa. Divided into swamp and savannah sections, the area is crossed by a network of well-maintained trails. As you traverse the reserve on foot, look out for monkeys, giant tortoises, squirrels, monitor lizards, crabs, pangolins, and antelopes. Long boardwalks, suspended bridges, and canopy walkways take you across lush marshlands and to various spots ideal for bird-watching--see if you can spot yellow-billed sunbirds, blue-breasted kingfishers, and red-crested turacos hiding in the tree branches. Lekki Conservation Centre Reviews
What a wonderful natural haven where to find serenity out of the hectic and full-of-concrete Lagos. There is a board at the main hall trying to sensitise people about how plastic waste is threatening ... more »

The Lekki Conservation Centre is a natural resort and a great place to come for relaxation alone, with family or friends. The entry fee is reasonably priced. There are walkways traversing the swamp and you get to see animals like monkeys in their natural habitat. There's a tree house and canopy walkway. Access to the walkway attracts an additional fee and is not for the faint of heart. There's a family pack with games, barbecue section etc It's a place to be.
This is a real nature preserve. People go there expecting to see caged animals, wrong! This is a conservation, a preserve which leaves animals, reptiles and birds in their natural habitat. I would love to live near one of the only few places where nature has not been swallowed up by Lagos' fast but crazy development. The canopy walk is a thrill...never been on it though!
