Marvel at the size of Abuja National Mosque, an imposing gilt-domed structure with four towering minarets. Built in 1984, this modern structure dominates the landscape with its 60 m (192 ft) wide dome surrounded by 120 m (394 ft) tall minarets. Sloped exterior walls and calligraphy tiles next to the entrance gate give way to ornate crimson and gold carpets covering the floor of the mosque. As headquarters of Nigeria's Islamic community, the complex includes a library, religious school, and conference center.
