Souk des Teinturiers Reviews
يختبئ سوق حرفي صغير نسبيا وممتع إلى حد ما من أعين المتطفلين خارج الجدران على الجانب الجنوبي الشرقي من الساحة الرئيسية في مراكش. في المتاجر الواقعة حول محيط المساحة المغلقة ، يتم تصنيع مجموعة واسعة من ... more »A relatively small and somewhat enjoyable artisan market from prying eyes hides outside the walls on the south-east side of Marrakech's main square. In stores located around the perimeter of the enclosed space, a wide range of products are manufactured, which are immediately put up for sale. Among other things, you can buy colorful fabrics, plaid fabric, various small crafts in moroccan style. If you wish, you can also sit in a café and think about local life.
Partiamo dal dire che non è stata la miglior esperienza del viaggio, per leggerezza ci siamo fatti adescare da gente del posto che ci hanno portato a vedere questo posto dove vengono trattate le pelli... more »Let's start by saying that it was not the best experience of the trip, for lightness we got lured by locals who took us to see this place where the skins of animals are treated. After an explanation of the process and the close-up view of the tubs led us to in their shop to let us buy some products, which we knew how to desist, however at the exit the improvised "guide" with a boy who arrived shortly after asked us the money for the visit (which we would have already wanted to give but compared with the experiemza), and after rejecting our offer of 40 Mad (4th Approximately, take into account that a museum takes 70 Mad) almost threatened us by blocking the road imtising us to give him 100 Mad minimum. Definitely a bad experience for the sensations that left us. My advice if you go to Fes leave out these tanneries are nothing compared to what you will see in Fes, if you want to go do IT WARNING, do not trust people who out of kindness want to accompany you only as a favor. If someone starts explaining something to you, block it and ask them in advance how much they ask for the explanation and if the price is too high go. Don't get stuck in some alleywhere you're going to have to pay for what you're going to have to pay for.
The souks are a pretty incredible. So many are crammed into such a small spot yet it’s so easy to get lost in there. Haggle hard as they try and heavily rip you off and don’t bother following anyone anywhere, it will be a waste of time. Great experience
There are literally a billion things inside this maze and your eyes will have a hard time spotting it all. The souk is divided in areas such as metal, lighting, clothing, leather,... ask for a price and they definitely will tell you a ridicolously high price. Try to bargain with a starting price 20% of their price and be steady so you can meet them at 30 or 40%, definitely not more! Be cautious like anywhere else for pickpockets and people trying to guide you around for money. One golden tip: go on Friday which is couscous day for the locals as you will see that it is waaaay less crowded in the souks. (also not all shops open, around 80%)
