  • The best war museum on Malta, and there are a few, is without doubt the Fort Elmo / National war museum. Not only is the museum set up in a good order but there are also plenty of interactive elements on display. It will take you through the military history and importance of the islands throughout history with the added bonus of walking through a fort that has played such a part in history. If you have time then go to the next door Maltese experience, you can get tickets from both sites, and then you with get a 50 minute movie on the history of the island that then sets the scene for your visit. You will also get a marvellous view of the harbour.
  • Excellent museum charting the history of the various battles that Malta has been involved in from its earliest history to the present day shown in written accounts, artifacts, interactive panels and animated segments making it accessible no matter how you choose to learn. All set on Fort St Elmo, a key location for much of Malta's history. Also allows views of the harbour which you can see for free of you ask at the ticket office. You'll not be admitted to the museum exhibits though.
