Visit Al Qurain Martyrs Museum to witness the battlefield during occupation of Iraq. In 1991, Kuwait freedom fighters fought against Iraqi troops; the battle began when occupation troops demanded they leave the house, which they refused. The museum stands for the freedom and the lost lives of freedom fighters. As you walk through the house you can see missing walls, and ruins which haven't changed from the battle. The bottom floor exhibits relics from the battle and tells a story about martyrs who fought for the pride of their nation. The museum is simple but well structured with all the photographs and exhibits also described in English. The part of the house "half-destroyed" has been secured but still perfectly allows to realize the cruelty of those months and the massacre that has taken place inside. Entry is free, as is intangible information. IT's worth a visit if you're passing by Kuwait (30 minutes from downtown, easy to find).
For those who are interested in history of Kuwait, I recommend them to visit this museum and learn about brave people. Unforgettable visit. more »
This is a place anyone who is interested in the 1990/91 Kuwaiti Resistance should visit. You'll need about 90 minutes. Plenty of parking, most of the exhibits have some English, and there is an English language booklet that helps explain what happened.
Its the place which tells its sad story by itself. The Iraqi invasion. They maintained the place very well just like frozen in the time and show cased most of the things very well with description in english also.
