On first call at the hotel entrance cost still 850 KSH, a day later when diving one said what from the dive center of 600 KSH, we paid 1,000 KSH locally, but got no ticket. The Ngomongo village consists of a reproduction of each of a House of the largest 4 tribes (I forgot Kikuyu, Luo, Maasai, the 4th). Our guide a short dance and a visit to the gift shop then took us from House to House, where each was told, as the people there live, i.e. place to sleep, food storage, as the houses are rebuilt, etc finally's. Oh yes, the guide speaks an excellent German. Rating: The project was launched in the life many years ago, to the tourists to give an overview of a few ethnic groups in Kenya and the local people a job. This is quite nice and interesting. Of course, you would expect now no profundity. The tour takes about one to one and a half hours. Depending on what expectations you go, this is a quite rewarding half-day excursion.
This is a good trip if dry on our visit the rain was none stop so spoilt our day .But a we are returning in November and this is a place i will go back to and hope this time we get all the way round more »
Bomas of Kenya version in Mombasa. A replica of traditional homes of different Kenyan tribes while reclaiming an old quarry. Here you get to know how Kenyan tribes lived and interacted before the invasion of Western culture. It is an historical centre and a small entry fee is charged. Local and international visitors are welcome.
Good family attraction. The site is a former quarry revitalised in a project inspired by Haller Park. There’s a small open-air museum presenting the main Kenyan tribes, with hands-on activities and a dance performance.
