At this time there is a beautiful exhibition about the discovery of Deinocheirus with a beautiful reconstructed specimen. The rest of the museum is very nice and charming, unfortunately there are few explanations in English, but it is still an excellent attraction.
It was pretty good but not great. I did still enjoy it. It did have lots of good dioramas and interesting stuffed animals. Although I'm pretty good with Japanese I noticed that there is not much English. This is a Japanese museum so fair enough but if you are traveling there and can't read Japanese this won't help you.
Truly one of the best museums I've been to. I really enjoyed the way the exhibits were displayed and thoughtfully explained. I truly appreciated this museum as one of the highlights of my time in Japan. There is so much to do here, as there are 6 floors to explore. I recommend getting here early, or coming on a Friday or Saturday when they are open until 8, rather than 5, if you plan to get it all done in one go.
