Reggae Style Mayfield Falls Reviews
Several of us left our yoga retreat for a half day to Reggae Mayfield Falls run by Chukka (didn't go to the other entrance called "original" falls). A friendly reception, paid $20 entry plus some for ... more »
De Mayfield falls hebben wij bezocht in een speciaal door TUI samengestelde excursie. Eerst naar een kleuterschooltje, dan de grotten van Roaring River waar de gids veel over weet te vertellen. Daarna... more »We visited The Mayfield falls in a special excursion by TUI. First go to a kindergarten, then the caves of Roaring River where the guide tells a lot about it. Then take a walk along real Jamaican houses while the guide lets you smell all kinds of herbs. After a drink and botanical garden visited. By bus continue to Reggae style Mayfield falls. Bikini and water shoes with you, you walk through the Mayfield falls up. Together a nice excursion what you really see some of the land. Specifically Mayfield Falls: In The TUI description it says that you can go up/walk along the waterfalls. This can be in itself, but you will see water traps always remotely. It is Much nicer to walk up the waterfalls in swimwear. In some places you can have your shoulders massaged by the waterfall, or sit in the small cavity behind the waterfall. Take some water shoes, or rent them on the spot (otherwise it's pretty pricey; 6 USD)
Great tour. In fact, the best "falls" tour in the island. Hands down
As a local- this place is a bit of a rip off. It's a beautiful property & the guides are quite knowledgeable & helpful but since we didn't go through a tour operator we found out lots of things when we got there. We had to rent a locker to keep our stuff in for $700 (And the hike back to the car was about 3 miles up a steep hill so that wasn't an option), we had to rent shoes for $800, along with an entrance fee of $900. When I did a bit if research before I saw where there was a restaurant on property but you had to order your food ahead (which we never saw mention of) so was no good to us. So all in all, carry EVERYTHING YOU could possibly need- food, drinks & your own shoes & travel as light as possible so you don't need a locker. From Montego Bay Google maps said 1 hour & 7 mins but based on the state of the road we ended up taking almost 2 hours & the route Google recommended was totally wrong, we had to.ask for directions as we went along & we still got lost!
