Falmouth Heritage Walks offers a 2 hour tour of the historic district of the town of Falmouth, which is located in the parish of Trelawny on the island of Jamaica.

This architectural gem, located between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay on Jamaica's north coast, has been listed as one of the world's 100 most endangered monuments four times in the last decade.

A guided, leisurely paced walk will take you along streets laid out in a grid plan in the mid-1700s. Discover the little known history of this over 240 year old town and what made it a rich and significant port in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Learn how Falmouth got running water before New York City and how the poetess Elizabeth Barrett Browning was connected to the town. Hear how the movement to abolish slavery was essentially headquartered in Falmouth and visit the grave of the famous abolitionist, William Knibb.

View Georgian architecture that was adapted to local conditions to create a unique island style, and which is still remarkably preserved. It is widely recognized that Falmouth has the best collection of Georgian buildings in the Caribbean.

Highlights will include the grand Courthouse built in 1815, numerous 200 year old buildings that line Market Street, the Albert George building, and the 1796 Anglican Parish Church.

Leave Falmouth with a newer appreciation of the island's rich history and heritage.
