i Giardini di Villa Melzi, Bellagio
A strip of gardens that line the lakeshore on the Bellagio peninsula, i Giardini di Villa Melzi is a manicured landscape that was once the playground of Francesco Melzi d'Eril, duke of Lodi and the vice president of the Italian Republic in the early 19th century. The Neoclassical villa and chapel set off the colors of the garden. A greenhouse, called the orangery, is home to a collection of artifacts from the Napoleonic period and other rare archaeological finds. On the other side of the grounds, bamboo surrounds a chapel to create a place quiet meditation. i Giardini di Villa Melzi Reviews
This gorgeous villa is a must, when we went in May, the flowers were all in bloom. I have never in my life seen something so beautiful. more »

Mind you, although "Caretto" the price of the ticket is repaid. Beautiful gardens, manicured (numerous workers).
This place is breathtaking. Definitely worth the visit if you're in Bellaggio. We only had 30 minutes to explore as the gardens were closing for the day, and saw most of it. I recommend going early to get the best light.
A beautiful, quaint garden in a small hamlet in Bellagio. Acres of well manicured lawns are dotted with colorful flower plants and Gothic structures and a villa. It's kissed by the gentle waves of Lake Como on one side and rises up on a hilly slope on the other.
