A significant temple to the Balinese people and a culturally historical artifact, Lempuyang Temple rewards the hiker not only with an authentic glimpse into the prayer life of the Balinese people, but also picturesque views over the surrounding vista. Suitable for those of moderate to good levels of fitness and walking ability, the site requires visitors to climb 1,700 steps to the summit. Along the way, you will come across ornate Buddhist carvings and architecture. Before you begin, be sure to find a sarong to wear, or ask a guide where to find one, because entry to the temple is not permitted without one.
