Among an array of antique houses, farms, and factories at Nederlands Openluchtmuseum, learn about life and work in the Netherlands. You'll have a chance to see how beer is brewed and take in the flavors and smells of the historic Netherlands. Located in a 44 hectare (109 acre) landscaped park, the museum features lakes, gardens, and open meadows with cattle grazing. Find out how paper and linseed were once produced, and have some typical Dutch poffertjes--tiny sweet pancakes--from a stall. Children can have fun at numerous play sites that will also take them back to the dawn of the 20th century. Restaurant in the town farm of Zwolle is fine, may have some more friendly staff. Something too much disorganized
This is one of my favourite museums of the world and I have seen quite a lot. It takes a whole day to see everything in this gigantic open air museum (but there's a tram). I come here often. Sometimes just for a stroll, to eat fresh bread from the bakery or I take my international friends who are interested in the dutch history. It is a beautiful museum, worth a visit. As well as for adults as children. In fact, it should be in your list of things to do when in the Netherlands. This museum is very interactive and great for kids. There's so much to do for them. Easy access by car or public transport.
Beautiful, interesting, and informative grounds. The people that work there were very pleasant. And they have some great food there too! I highly recommend if you have a chance to go that you do.
