  • We've been up there a few times and it's always fascinating. The gondola ride is already wonderful - you also have a bombastic view of Koblenz, the Deutsche Eck and the Rhine bends from above. The fortress is overwhelming in size once you're in it. They are always interesting events or exhibitions, both historical and technical. There is cool wine and small snacks, but also a larger cafe in the fortress. Toilets are clean and always easily accessible. The descent towards Mühlental (east) is adventurous, because you can drive over ancient stairs - but you can also drive with the inclined elevator (yes - the thing really means that!) There is a combined ticket for gondola and fortress entrance, but also a ring ticket at the gondola station at the Deutsches Eck - there you can then ride with gondola and inclined elevator, has the fortress entrance with it and finally goes by boat back to the left side of the Rhine.

  • From Dresden, by bus "'stadbusrundfahrten'" to visit the fortification, 10 euro entry that are well worth the time for what you discover there. Located in the Elbsandsein gebirge with views of the whole country and the Elbe. inside exhibitions and stables to visit, it's worth going there, no regrets

  • You can spend hours here! Stunning views, in depth history, one of our favourite places to visit in Germany. Loved the viewing platform. Plenty of disabled and pushchair access. Very reasonably priced.
  • Went with the family on the cable car to the fort. Was really nice, just keep in mind when very hot day it will be unbearable for small kids! Luckily there is an amazing play park and a very nice little restaurant at the mini-golf.
