In operation since 1703, Hamburger Fischmarkt is Hamburg's oldest and most traditional market. Virtually everything under the sun is sold at this eclectic market. Browse fruit, furniture, sausages, electronics, and much more as you seek out a bargain. Soak up the raucous atmosphere while listening to the vendors bellowing their sales pitches. • Tons of crowds, trucks, people yelling, pushing, chaos :) Food options are limited, sandwiches and fried pane stuff ... no fresh fish anyway. Fresh fish only for take away and cook at home. The offer ...  more »
  • Beer in the morning and with a delicious herring! A basket of exotic fruits for 15 degrees. A large selection of fish- chilled, smoked, in sauce and necessarily with the opportunity to bargain. This fact has been elevated to the rank of show. Professionals with great skill offer different fish, offering a discount, thus playing on the feelings of visitors. Huge tables and two stages are set up in the main building of the event. Musicians play hits, and people are high from everything they saw. Beer pours, fish is sold, visitors are in a great mood. And it's early in the morning! I advise you.

  • A legend and a must-see for all visitors to Hamburg! Every Sunday from 5.00am - 9.30am since 1703 there is a huge traditional market where they sell literally everything for relatively cheap prices. From porcelain to fruits to fish, you can just find about anything just in the shadows of the legendary fish auction hall. Half the jungle is sold here directly in the pot and from the lorry, bananas fly through the air, plastic bags full of sausage go to the owner for a ridiculously low price. German market vendors are shouting their lungs out of their body, crowds of people in front of the traders' cars - you have to experience it (and it's worth getting out of bed early once to do so)! Lots of deal bags are available on the market, mostly being sold for about 10 euros. The bags can be filled with fish, fruits, plants or even pasta. Golden tip: take a fresh famous German fish brötchen to start your day perfectly. After you visited the market, visit the fish auction hall where a nice band is playing on Sundays, lots of people inside and a very nice atmosphere. Lovely experience!
  • Crazy, loud, funny, lots of people, but worth seeing. But only around 6.30 a.m., otherwise the drunken party guests from the Reeperbahn will meet you. Unfortunately, there are also too many cheap junk and clothing stalls available. But there are also some great little Hamburg stalls.
