Mauerpark, Berlin

4.1
#4 of 61 in Parks in Berlin
Established by city officials as a green space after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Mauerpark contains a piece of the former barrier between East and West Germany. Take a walk past traces of the Wall from Behmstrasse along Norwegerstrasste toward Bornholmer Strasse. You can also see remnants while walking along Bernhauser Strasse from Eberswalder Strasse in the direction of the Berlin Wall Memorial. At the memorial, peruse the flea market for vinyl records, East German memorabilia, or new and vintage fashion. • My 3rd visit to Berlin since the Wall came down, and the 1st time I've been to "Mauerpark". Several people told me it was a "must see" and would be especially nice on a Sunday..... so I was a little b...  more »
  • The place if visited on Sundays offers a large market of used while artists perform in various parts of the park. Nothing special if you have a few days to visit Berlin do not recommend it because you lose too much time unnecessarily.

  • Best place to go in Berlin in the summer/late spring if you like a laid-back Sunday around lots of people (or if you're a tourist). There's something for everyone - from flea markets to food stalls to buskers and dancing to even an open-air amphitheatre that often features a free-for-all karaoke!
  • Very Nice flee market to visit for tourists. You can even buy wine and beer here....in a real glass! You must go here if you visit Berlin. Lots of cool stands and different food trucks.
