Ile d'Eden, Tikehau

#7 of 8 in Things to do in Tikehau
Ile d'Eden represents a self-sustaining community living by the shores of Tikehau. The group of deeply religious Taiwanese people that manage life in this small, insular camp, believe that God has commanded them to care for the planet and to live sustainably on it. The organic farm grows figs, bananas, guavas, and other produce, which visitors can sample. Unorganized trips are not allowed, so you must come here with a tour group. Note that, due to numerous reports of the poor treatment of resident animals, the attraction is not recommended. • a magical moment where we learn a lot, they are very nice and explains to us the basics of their life organizations a return to the roots that makes us happy and makes us think

  • We are on another planet where they advocate self-sufficiency and protection of the planet except that this motu becomes an open-dump: plastics, scrap... The little inhabitant hides in their bungalows on stilts (tinted windows) so as not to be seen or not to see.. Creepy atmosphere!
