On the edge of the lagoon on sunny days, it's worth a visit. BUT, the 2000 inscribed in a way not visible at the entrance is indeed the price of the visit and not of the monoi (it's misleading ...). Unlike the other visitors, we were greeted by Clarisse, admittedly in a friendly way but without what her husband seems to bring to the visit. The visit lasted less than 10 minutes and arriving at the gate to leave surprise: "the visit is 2000 per adult and 1000 per child (5 and 7 years ...) so 6000" ... It's very, very excessive... So watch out who welcomes you and be aware of the price to pay! 6000 francs (just over 50 euros for two adults and two children) for a 10-minute visit.
Es wird wert darauf gelegt rechtzeitig vor Ort zu sein, sonst kann es sein, dass der Besucher draussen stehen bleibt. Alles ist aus dem Meer. Die Mauer, die Skulpturen, teilweise die Sessel. Alles ist... more »It is worth being on site in time, otherwise the visitor may be left standing outside. Everything is out of the sea. The wall, the sculptures, some of them the armchairs. Everything has come together in years of work and been put together into one work of art. Akhy is a living artist. On the walk, he explains in detail his artworks, sings a few songs and makes a hat out of palm leaves for each guest. The coronation comes to a close. He kisses a stonefish, shows various creatures from the sea, which he keeps in a large natural seawater pool. Then it's out into the sea, where he brings out oysters and serves his guests to eat. At the very end, I was allowed to feed some kind of lobster with a fish. You have to have experienced that. Take your waterproof camera with you. You will not be disappointed.
An extraordinary place and character, in every sense of the word. It is absolutely necessary to go through here if you want to know more about the island, its inhabitants (including fish, molluscs and crustaceans) and their habits and customs. The character is passionate and exciting, as long as one enters his world without prejudice and eyes wide open!
A truly unique place, a complete activity: visit of a work of art, knowledge of a singer known in Polynesia, Discovery of the world of the lagoon and even tasting of coco in all form. Not to be missed in Maupiti.
